The Office of the President of the Republic of China at Taipei
The five-storey building was inaugurated in 1919. Its architechtural design features an elegant and majestic symmetry. This building has been used as the Office of the President of the Republic of China ever since the central government was relocated to Taipei in 1949.
Yangmingshan National Park at Taipei
A mountainous area where vistors can find charming waterfalls, lakes, volcanic craters, rice paddies, steaming hot springs and cherry blossoms. It is an ideal place for hiking and picnic.
Towering Golden Buddha at Kaohsiung
Taiwan's tallest image of Buddha gazing at the surrounding rice paddies. The huge statue is surrounded by 480 life-size golden images above the entrance to Fokuangshan or Light of Buddha Mountain.
Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall at Taipei
The memorial hall is a majestic marble monument, surrounded by landscaped gardens and placid ponds. It houses the National Theater and Concert hall. Photographs and mementos of the late president's life are on display in Hall's library.
Dragon and Tiger Pagodas at Kaohsiung
The dragon's throat is the entrance and the lion's mouth is the exit. To enter from a dragon's throat and coming out of a lion's mouth symbolises turning bad luck into good fortune.
